Marta Parra Casado
Marta Parra Casado, architect. Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (1998).Co-founder of Virai Arquitectura (2001) and Parra-Müller Arquitectura de Maternidades (2008). Virai specializes in healthy architecture, with projects rooted in sustainability, humanization, and bioconstruction, which have been honored nationally and internationally for enhancing lives through environmentally conscious, human-centered, and naturally inspired design. Her work includes the birthing unit at Hospital Nuevo Belén (IDDA Award 2017, Chicago) and the Day Center in Meliana (Finalist, Mapei Sustainability Award 2023). Named "Architect of the Year 2018" in Spain, she coordinates the Máster de Arquitectura e Ingeniería Hospitalaria at the University of Cádiz. As mother, activist, and educator, she champions the rights of babies and women through Virai's work.
