Robert C. Kloosterman

Robert C. Kloosterman is Emeritus Professor of Economic Geography and Planning at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. His research is guided by questions about how social, economic and cultural changes of advanced urban economies have impacted on different social groups. The transformation of urban production systems plays a key role in his work. He has published on labour market developments, migrant entrepreneurship, the planning of cultural amenities and, more recently, on cultural industries, especially music and architectural design. He was the lead partner of the international CICERONE project on the cultural and creative sector funded under the EU Horizon 2020 programme.
